Baby Tutu

Hey there ya'll!  I'm back with another ORIGINAL pattern!  I've looked everywhere for a cute crochet tutu pattern and I haven't found a damn thing.  So, I made my own.  My little lady is turning one in July and I wanted to make her a birthday tutu and birthday crown to wear for her party.  I really hope ya'll can understand the pattern.  I took a ton of pictures along the way so that I could easily explain how I did it.  So I won't keep you waiting any longer!  HERE IT IS IN ALL IT'S CUTENESS!

What you need: Worsted weight yarn, H hook, J hook, Yarn needle

Waistband:
With H hook.  Ch 7.
Row 1- sc into 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across.  (6 sc)  ch2.  turn.
Row 2- in BLO sc in each sc across. (6 sc)  ch2.  turn.
- Repeat row 2 until strip measures circumference of baby's waist minus 2.5 inches.  do not fasten off.  ch1 and work a sc border around entire strip, working 3 sc into each corner.
Put  right sides together and sl st ends together to form a ring.  Fasten off.

Turn ring inside out so that right sides are facing.

Base:
With J hook.  Join with sl st to last st made.  *ch 3.  dc in each sc around.  join with sl st to top of ch 3.  repeat from * 5 times.  fasten off.  (you should have 5 rows of dc)

Ruffles:
With J hook.
Rnd 1: join with sl st around post of ch3.

Ch3.  dc around post of each dc around.  join with sl st to top of ch3.
Rnd 2:  ch3.  2 dc in each dc around.  join with sl st to top of ch3.
Rnd 3:  ch3. 2 dc in each dc around.  join with sl st to top of ch3.  Fasten off.  (you should have 3 rows of dc.  it should look ruffled)

repeat rounds 1 - 3 on the next 3 rows of base.
leave 5th row unworked.  (You could continue the ruffles to the 5th row, I just chose not to.  It seemed to give it more structure.)

weave in all ends and put it on your little lady and take LOTS of pictures  :)

NOTE:  Please do not claim my patterns or my pictures as your own.  I don't mind if you share this but please post a link back to my site.  Feel free to sell any finished item you make using my pattern but, PLEASE DO NOT SELL THE PATTERN ITSELF!  Thank you.

HAPPY HOOKING!

  9. What is the length of the tutu? I tend to crochet tightly so I want to make it long enough. Making as a gift so I don't have any baby to compare it to.
